College Football Rankings 2017: Projected Week 8 AP Top 25 Poll
By Zach Bigalke
West Virginia has bounced in and out of the AP Top 25 throughout the season. The Mountaineers will likely bounce back into the rankings this week after taking down No. 24 Texas Tech on Saturday afternoon in Morgantown. After playing close for much of the game, West Virginia pulled away for the 46-35 victory at home to move to 4-2 on the year.
Will Grier had another huge passing game for the Mountaineers, finishing with 352 yards and five touchdowns on 32-of-41 passing. After falling behind 35-17 in the third quarter, the West Virginia defense clamped down in the second half and held the Red Raiders scoreless over the last 24 minutes of the game. With 29 unanswered points, the Mountaineers reversed their fortunes in emphatic fashion.
