1. JT Barrett’s upcoming backslide

I’m not saying JT Barrett will completely fall apart and become the JT of old. But he won’t keep up his current run of 16 touchdowns to only one interception once the meat of the schedule arrives. Barrett has overcome the weak game against the Oklahoma Sooners (0 passing touchdowns, one interception) to bounce back and find success as a senior.

Barrett culminated that rise up by putting up seven touchdowns for the Buckeyes against the Huskers (five passing and two rushing).

Penn State has the ninth overall defense, while Iowa has the 21st, Michigan State is ranked 10th, and Michigan is up to third in defensive rankings. Since the Buckeyes have gotten on their three game offensive burst it has been against weaker defenses like the Maryland Terps at 65th, the Rutgers Scarlet Knights at 36, and Nebraska at 35th (before this 56 point run). Barrett will continue to play well, because Kevin Wilson really is an offensive guru and a quarterback wiz.

What will Wilson and Urban Meyer dial up for Barrett and Dobbins to keep them on fire? I think it’ll stay with the back, Dobbins, working the outside while Barrett runs the inside zone read and power read to stay between the tackles benefitting from his size and power as a runner.
