2. The Cardinal offense stands tall

David Shaw had to be feeling good Saturday night.

Every button the Stanford head coach pushed worked, as his Cardinal stomped on Oregon.

On the offensive side of the ball, Stanford finished with over 500 yards of total offense and scored six touchdowns. The other side was just as strong, limiting the Ducks to five pass completions for a total of 33 yards with two interceptions.

About the only area of concern might be in the rush defense, as Royce Freeman did break free for a 59-yard jaunt, finishing with 143 yards. Freeman, though, was kept out of the end zone on this night,

Known for producing quality future NFL players, Stanford appears to have more of the same at tight end. JJ Arcega-Whiteside caught six passes for 112 yards and two touchdowns, with freshman Colby Parkinson hauling in two scores himself.

Keller Chryst was 15-of-21 passing for 181 yards and three touchdowns, with backup K.J. Costello coming in and completing 5-of-6 for 59 yards and a fourth score.

After three weeks of the season, many people were counting Stanford out of the Pac-12 race, as they had fallen to USC and were 1-2. Since, they are 4-0 with wins over UCLA, Arizona State, Utah and Oregon, and head into a pair of road games at Oregon State and Washington State with plenty of momentum on their side.
