4. Lamar Jackson has no help on offense

The Louisville Cardinals got five total touchdowns from quarterback Lamar Jackson in Week 7. While some critics would consider that to be too much, not so fast.

Jackson still got some assistance on the offensive side of the ball from wide receivers Jaylen Smith, Dez Fitzpatrick and the ever-versatile Reggie Bonnafon, who shall forever remain positionless.

Smith finished the game six receptions for 118 receiving yards. Fitzpatrick finished with seven receptions for 127 receiving yards and a touchdown reception. Bonnafon picked things up in the rushing attack, running for 107 rushing yards and a touchdown on 12 carries.

Jackson’s other touchdown reception came from tight end Kemari Averett, who caught a 22-yard touchdown pass.

Suffice it to say, Jackson has found reasonable replacements for last year’s receiving leaders, James Quick, Cole Hikutini and Jamari Staples. The new blood just needs to find a way to hold onto the ball. They’ve lost eight fumbles in 2017, ranking second in the ACC.
