3. The NC State Wolfpack lack a playmaker

The NC State Wolfpack look to be in good shape on offense and that’s saying something considering what’s occurred in year’s past.

This season, the Wolfpack offense is led by running back Nyheim Hines, tight end Jaylen Samuels and wide receiver Kelvin Harmon. Hines kept NC State in the game with an 83-yard rush for a touchdown to give NC State their first score of the game.

A 92-yard punt return touchdown by Hines tied things up at 14-14 with 55 seconds left in the first quarter.  After that, Hines would fade to black as Harmon took over.

Harmon finished the game with three receptions for 113 receiving yards. It was Harmon’s fourth 100-yard receiving game and his second in a row. He’s having a strong sophomore season for the Wolfpack.

Then there’s tight end Jaylen Samuels. Samuels scored on a 40-yard rush to put the game out of reach for the Pittsburgh Panthers. His playmaking ability continues to be on full display as they outscored Pittsburgh 21-3 in the second half.
