2. The Pittsburgh Panthers’ season is over

The Pittsburgh Panthers season isn’t completely over. After all, they’re not the only winless team left in ACC play. The North Carolina Tar Heels are also 0-4.

The Panthers are 0-3 in ACC but this is what parity in the conference looks like. Pittsburgh had to replace their starting quarterback and last year’s leading rusher in running back James Conner.

They’ve alternated with quarterbacks Max Browne and Ben Dinucci but Dinucci is expected to take over full time after Browne was lost for the rest of the season due to injury.

Dinucci finished with 170 passing yards, a passing touchdown and an interception in the team’s Week 7 loss to NC State. He’s thrown for 612 passing yards, three passing touchdowns and three interceptions so far this season.

They need to find their rushing attack to get back to their winning ways. They finished with 95 rushing yards against NC State but their leading rusher had 18 total rushing yards.

The Panthers are averaging 113.7 rushing yards per game, ranking last in the conference. They’ve got a chance to improve things this week against Duke, but they’ll have to find a way to get a victory on the road.
