4. Running game has been established

Baylor has struggled to establish a running game this season. Starting running back JaMycal Hasty was injured in game one and returing 1,000-yard rusher Terence Williams did not return until game three. Baylor has been forced to rely on freshman John Lovett to get the lion’s share of the carries.

Lovett gained a lot of experience and that showed with a 75-yard touchdown run against Kansas State. He is a slashing, speedy runner who can really make a defense pay with a long touchdown run. Last week was the first time all year that Baylor has had a full stable of rushers in backfield.

Baylor gained 219 yards as a team against Oklahoma State and Williams led team with 95 yards on the ground. The Bears must keep this trend going to put pressure on West Virginia defense and control the clock.

Baylor has finally found something in the run game with offensive line playing better and a lot of different runners contributing to the rushing attack. Look for a heavy dose of Lovett and Williams against the Mountaineers on Saturday.
