1. Luke Falk gets back on track

As previously mentioned, Luke Falk had the worst game of his NCAA career a week ago against the Cal Golden Bears. He threw five interceptions, not a single touchdown and hurt Wazzu’s chances at a national title.

He wasn’t the only meltdown after the USC upset, either. The offensive line gave up nine sacks and the run game was non-existent. The defense gave up 100 yards to a guy that had ran for 160 the entire season before Saturday night.

Mike Leach, Alex Grinch and, most importantly, Falk strike back. They rise up. Falk came off his horrid outing at Boise State, which led to a temporary benching, with 396 yards and six touchdowns a week later against Oregon State.

The Buffs’ defense has fallen on hard times since Jim Leavitt’s departure to Eugene, Ore., and have slid down to 86th in the nation per the S&P+. Pitting the 86th-ranked defense against the 47th-ranked offense with a senior quarterback that has NFL scouts and his demanding head coach to prove himself to is a bad sign for the Buffaloes.

I expect Falk to command the huddle and drive his Cougs to victory. He will get back on track and throw for 350 yards on eight yards per attempt and four touchdowns in a Washington State 42-14 victory.
