1. Butch Jones

Oh boy Butch Jones, where do we begin. How about with last week’s ugly 15-9 loss to a fellow struggling SEC opponent South Carolina — at home. Or how about the week before where the Volunteers were shutout and embarrassed by Georgia 41-0 — also at home.

Tennessee has been in the top 10 and 15 for recruiting in the past few seasons and has filled their rosters with an incredible amount of talent behind their power running game. Jones has clearly been on the hot seat since last season when they somehow finished 9-4 with a set of miraculous wins. The luck hasn’t been there for them this season.

Even though Jones has a winning record of 33-24, almost a third of those wins have come from non-power five conferences. Getting the wins that matter and the wins that will get Tennessee to the next level hasn’t been a goal Jones has been able to reach. Not to mention, under Butch Jones, Tennessee has yet to be an SEC West team (c’mon man). Another crazy fact for you, Tennessee hasn’t scored a touchdown since Sept. 16 — yes, four weeks ago.

Not only do the stats back up the potential firing of the head coach, but the fans and the community around Tennessee have began to strike against him and for his firing. Believe it or not, a grocery store in Chattanooga, Tennessee is selling cupcakes, cookies and cakes decorated with the saying “Fire Him!” across the sweet treats.

Easy to say, Butch Jones is undoubtedly on the hottest seat in America, and I simply don’t know if there is a future left for him in Tennessee. Not to be the bearer of bad news, but with all this going on, the Volunteers have to take on Alabama this week in Tuscaloosa.. RIP. May the odds ever been in your favor Butch.
