Oklahoma Football: 3 takeaways from victory vs. Kansas State

2. Rodney Anderson finally breaks out
For Oklahoma sophomore running back Rodney Anderson, 2017 has been just as frustrating as his collegiate career.
A highly-touted prospect coming out of high school, Anderson arrived in Norman with promise. Injuries, though, limited him to one single carry for five yards last year.
Seemingly over those issues in the offseason, Anderson again has been hindered by the injury bug. He entered Saturday with just 22 carries for 82 yards, as the Sooners continue sorting through a series of capable running backs.
Well, that answer may have been found vs. Kansas State, as Anderson had his best game to date, running for 147 yards on 19 carries and a touchdown as Oklahoma rallied to defeat the Wildcats on the road.
Baker Mayfield has no trouble finding open receivers and getting it done in the passing game, but with a back capable of handling things like Anderson did this weekend, OU is back to being a contender not only in the Big 12 but the nation.
