2. USF vs. UCF will be Florida’s biggest game in 2017

I wish I were joking about this but it will not come from Miami, Florida or Florida State. The two best teams in the state of Florida reside in the American Athletic Conference.

Now, South Florida and Central Florida are on a collision course for the lone New Year’s Six spot. With the elimination of the Mountain West teams like Boise State and San Diego State, the two most worthy contenders to reach the New Year’s Six are Central Florida and South Florida.

It’s possible that one of these teams could fall before the Nov. 24 matchup and make the Group of Five spot even more up in the air or more locked up depending on what happens. However, we know at this point it is going to be one of these two teams.

Another big question that comes from this is will one of the two teams become the first Group of Five team to be inside of the top 15 of the CFP rankings. A non-Power Five conference has never been ranked in the top 15 of a ranking and there is a very good chance that we will see it when the first ranking of 2017 comes out on Halloween.

So much will be on the line come Nov. 24, if the two teams can make it there unscathed.
