NFL Mock Draft 2018: Complete first round after Week 8
Notre Dame offensive lineman Mike McGlinchey would not have to stray far if he were drafted by the Chicago Bears. McGlinchey is one of the best offensive tackles available in this NFL Draft class, and few would be surprised if he was actually the first one picked.
However, the Bears have actually stumbled upon something positive with this offense and rookie quarterback Mitchell Trubisky and a solid ground game. Running backs Tarik Cohen and Jordan Howard are a lethal duo.
There’s two big missing pieces on this offense. One is piecing the puzzle together that is the Chicago offensive line and the other is adding receiving depth. Yet, there are more top 10 quality offensive lineman available than wide receivers.
The Bears will have the opportunity to add some wide receivers in later rounds with guys like SMU’s Courtland Sutton and Memphis’s Anthony Miller likely to be still on the board after the first round. McGlinchey makes a lot of sense here.
