What a two-game stretch Syracuse almost had.

The Orange, who pulled off a Friday the 13th shocker at home vs. Clemson, were unable to do the same on the road this past Saturday, falling to Miami, 27-19.

Eric Dungey struggled against the Hurricane defense, throwing four interceptions and finishing just 13 of 41 for 137 yards. Dontae Strickland did crack the 100-yard mark, rushing for 105, and Dungey added another 100 on the ground.

But the Syracuse defense surrendered 344 yards to Malik Rosier and another 136 on the ground. Cole Murphy did kick through four field goals for the ‘Cuse.

Here’s what Syracuse head coach Dino Babers had to say following the loss:

“There’s a lot of positives,” Babers said. “It’s just, it’s hard to swallow when you don’t win. We’re 4-4, we’ve got the toughest schedule in the country and we’re 4-4. And guess what? We’ve got two more on the road and two more at home in the loud house and I guarantee you we’re going to be ready to play those four games.”

The Orange take a week off now after their back-to-back slate and will travel to Florida State on November 4. They close with Wake Forest, Louisville and Boston College.
