Last week’s projection: Alabama vs. Penn State
TCU’s comeback season is about halfway complete but the hardest part of that journey back is still ahead. This week it continues in Ames, Iowa as they face the 25th ranked Iowa State Cyclones. Having won on the road in Manhattan and Stillwater already has helped their cause and with the Clemson-Washington meltdown from a few weeks back, that has placed TCU into the top four. TCU still has Oklahoma, Texas Tech and Texas so if there are some that think TCU hasn’t earned their spot in this projection but with those three games and even this week against ISU, they will have earned it.
Another week, another beatdown of an SEC opponent by Alabama. The biggest thing that might be a mystery at this point is can the two schools that have the best chance to beat Alabama before the SEC title game have a chance to upend the Tide? LSU travels to Alabama while Auburn hosts the Tide in the final game before Alabama’s more then likely trip to the SEC title game? The way Alabama has been rolling, not sure there will be anything those teams can do to cause chaos in the road to the CFP.

Week 9 outlook
A loss, like the other projected playoff this week will bring pending chaos. With Wisconsin and a large group of one loss teams fighting at the gates of getting in the CFP, Iowa State will have fans from Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Miami, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Ohio State rooting for them this weekend. TCU seems to be the most vulnerable of the playoff teams this week. Meanwhile, Alabama has a week off. I just hope they take it easy on the bye week.
