College Football Playoff 2017: Projected Top 4 for Week 9
By Jesse Smith
3. Georgia Bulldogs
Georgia is ranked No. 3 in the AP Top 25 and the Coaches Poll so because of how steady it was during the weekend, as of now I have to put then in at No. 3. This is the one team that is flying out from under the radar. In recent history, everybody had been used to Georgia slipping up, but no hate now since the Bulldogs are winning.
Last Saturday, freshman quarterback Jake Fromm may have had his best game of the season, which is a great sign for this team. Fromm hit Missouri for 326 yards on 18-for-26 passing, two touchdowns and one interception.
Missouri stayed in the game for the first quarter, but Georgia never looked back after winning the second quarter 20-7. Missouri was forced to pass a lot as they couldn’t get their running game against the dominate Bulldogs defense. They only rushed for 59 yards and Georgia went for 370, with three running backs with 70 yards or more (D’Andre Swift 94, Sony Michel 86 and Nick Chubb 70).
Linebacker Roquan Smith led the charge on defense with eight tackles. The defense held Missouri under 310 total yards. The final score was 53-28.
