1. Oklahoma State needs to start converting on big opportunities

The Pokes were one of the heavy favorites to walk away with the Big 12 Title entering the 2017 campaign. Yet, the 44-31 loss to TCU earlier in the regular season was a real setback for the Cowboys in terms of the Playoff picture and Big 12 race.

Part of the reason that Oklahoma State has played in so many close games this season is the lack of conversion on huge opportunities. The offense put up respectable numbers even against the Longhorns with more than 400 total yards.

Senior quarterback Mason Rudolph needs to be better on the road against quality defenses than he was against Texas. Rudolph was very shaky at times, and nearly had two passes intercepted on the final drive for the Pokes in the fourth quarter.

Oklahoma State will continue to be challenged in Week 9 as they take on West Virginia on the road at Milan Puskar Stadium. The Mountaineers can put up some impressive numbers on offense behind quarterback Will Grier.
