Baylor Football: 5 reason the Bears will beat Texas in Week 9
By Matt Workman
1. Home-field advantage
McLane Stadium has definitely been a welcome environment for Baylor this year. While Baylor has yet to win some of its best performances have come at home. The Bears were at home when they came within one score of then-No. 3 Oklahoma. It was also at McLane where Baylor score 23 unanswered points to get within a field goal of upsetting No. 23 West Virginia.
With Texas coming to town I expect the home field will be just as important. Even with an 11 a.m. ET start time, the home crowd will be fired up for this game. Of all the classic Southwest Conference rivals, Texas is special. Separated by only 90 miles the familiarity breeds contempt.
If Texas struggles to score points and Baylor hangs around early, expect the home crowd to let Texas know about it. What Baylor fans lack in numbers, they make up for in enthusiasm. During the last two games at McLane Stadium the fans have serenaded the players with chants of “B-U” as they left the field.

This week I expect those same chants but this time it will be following their first victory of the season.
