5. Will Grier continues his dominance against Big 12 defenses

The stat line that sophomore quarterback Will Grier has been able to put up so far is going under the radar. Grier has tossed 26 touchdown passes and compiled nearly 2,500 passing yards already. All those 26 touchdown passes came with only five picks as well.

Grier has never played against Oklahoma State, as he is a transfer from the Florida Gators. Yet, the TCU Horned Frogs and Virginia Tech Hokies are the only defenses that were really able to slow him down. TCU and Virginia Tech were not able to shut him down completely either.

The Pokes are going to have to keep up with Grier’s production. Shutting him down is not a good gameplan to rely on. However, Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy and defensive coordinator Glenn Spencer should be smart enough to realize that.

Oklahoma State’s defense has not been much stronger than that of Baylor or Texas Tech so far. The effort against Texas in Week 8 was very strong, limiting the Longhorns to only 10 points. It’s unlikely that will happen in back-to-back weeks, though.
