3. Arkansas’ offensive line is embarrassing
Want to know the only thing on the field that is actually worse than the Arkansas defense? The Razorback’s offensive line. Let me put this into perspective for those of you who might not understand.
Out of 130 college football teams, the Razorbacks are tied at 120th in sacks allowed. In tackles for loss allowed, they rank at 80th in a tie with teams such as Appalachian State, Boise State, Ball State and North Texas.
Bret Bielema sells his program as a team that will “win it in the trenches.” He likes “big, physical and uncommon” men on his offensive lines. Now, imagine everything he says he has with his “Trench Hogs” and then imagine the exact opposite. That is Arkansas’ offensive line.
The current O-Line is probably the worst in program history. There was one hope on the line in Frank Ragnow but he suffered an injury during the Auburn game. He’ll be out for the rest of the season before entering the NFL draft.
So not only does Arkansas have a brand new quarterback, but he would be better off playing the “5 Mississippi” touch football rules with this terrible offensive line protecting him. Even against a bad team like Ole Miss, there’s not changing the fact that this combination of vulnerabilities will be exploited over and over. The only hope Arkansas has is the run game. Speaking of…
