2. If you have three quarterbacks, you don’t have any

Anu Solomon caused some minor tremors in the transfer quarterback market when he elected to head to Waco during the offseason. He was awful to start the season, forcing Matt Rhule to look elsewhere on the depth chart. Since he pandora’s box of quarterback drama he hasn’t shut it.

Three different passers have seen meaningful playing time so far this season. For a while it was Zach Smith, in lieu of Solomon, that was given the reigns of the Baylor offense. He began Saturday’s game against Texas by throwing an interception that was returned for a touchdown. That led to a quick hook for the sophomore passer who was replaced by freshman Charlie Brewer.

Baylor needs to face the music. The problem with this team isn’t  going to be fixed by playing musical chairs with their quarterbacks. Smith finished the day 4-of-11 for 37 yards passing and interception. Brewer completed 17-of-27 passes for 176 yards. Neither threw a touchdown pass.

Neither was fantastic and neither was awful. Rhule needs to pick somebody, anybody and let the build a report with their receivers. Baylor needs to find some semblance of consistency on offense and that starts with quarterback.
