3. Malik Rosier needs to be more consistent

If Miami wants to contend for an ACC title, and eventually a National Title, Rosier must improve his accuracy and consistency.

The junior quarterback is giving his coach, Mark Richt gray hair. He completed only 16-of-38 passes on Saturday (42.1 percent). He connected on several long balls which masked his low completion percentage. If Miami hopes to win key games going forward, Rosier will need to be better. Too many times, his receivers had to make route adjustments in order to catch the ball. Many other times, the ball was off-target, and either high or wide. Improvement at the position is a must.

Saturday was Rosier’s third 300-yard passing game of the season. The Hurricanes schedule takes a turn for the nasty starting next week at home against Virginia Tech. If Miami hopes to navigate the oncoming slate – which includes a game against No. 9 Notre Dame – Rosier will have to be at his best.

Richt is very high on his quarterback. But it hasn’t been a secret that he wants more detailed, consistent play. I’d assume that will be an attention to detail that will be emphasized this week in practice in Coral Gables.
