1. Karan Higdon continues to impress

Higdon’s day was highlighted by his 49-yard fourth quarter touchdown run to put Michigan up 35-14. He also went over the 1,000-yard mark for his career, and added another 10-yard scoring run in the second quarter.

If Michigan wants to pile up wins over the last month of the season, it’s no secret that a reliable ground game will be key. Higdon looks like he’s ready to spear-head the effort. He has speed and is showing a knack for running tough between the tackles.

Michigan ran the ball 51 times for 6.5 yards per carry on Saturday. That’s good efficiency. Higdon’s 158 yards led the way. He now has 604 yards rushing on the year. If they keep feeding him the ball, the junior can easily eclipse the 1,000-yard mark for the season.

The Wolverines are a young team. They might as well get their youthful talent on the field. Higdon, along with Walker give Michigan a nice 1-2 punch. If Peters emerges at quarterback, it will only benefit Harbaugh going into the 2018 season.

Michigan did what it needed to do on Saturday. Take care of business. Dispatching the Scarlet Knights gets them going in the direction they’re used to. A pair of wins in the coming weeks, will set up an interesting finish to the season against Wisconsin and Ohio State.
