College Football Playoff Ranking Projections: Top 25 for Week 10
By Zach Bigalke
Michigan earned its sixth win of the season on the road at Rutgers, taking down the Scarlet Knights 35-14 on Saturday. Defense fueled the winning effort, as the Wolverines held Rutgers under 200 total yards of offense. Though the Big Ten title is likely out of reach, the Wolverines could be playing their way into New Year’s Six contention.
The Wolverines also got a big day out of its backfield, as both Karan Higdon and Ty Isaac rushed for over 100 yards. As a team, Michigan finished with 334 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Redshirt freshman Brandon Peters also took over at quarterback, finishing 10-of-14 for 124 passing yards and his first college touchdown.
With one of the toughest schedules to date in the entire country, the College Football Playoff selection committee could look favorably on the Wolverines. Michigan will also benefit from the chaos that took place around the rest of the country, and could be in the Top 25 of every poll after this weekend.
