Nebraska Football: 3 takeaways from comeback win over Purdue
By Shawn Ekwall
1. Tanner Lee is a star in the making
Lee was tremendous for Nebraska. His 431 yards were a career-high. Lee didn’t flinch after getting hit time after time. His confidence was evident as he led Nebraska down the field over the final 1:22.
The Tulane transfer has struggled at times this year. He’s been intercepted 10 times. But he’s thrown only one in the past four games. He now has 15 touchdowns through eight games. He’s managing the offense really well.
Lee’s receivers are stepping up as well. Morgan went over 100 yards receiving for the fourth time this year. J.D. Spielman had six catches for 70 yards. He had a career-high 200 yards against the Buckeyes two weeks ago. Seven different Nebraska players hauled in a pass Saturday.
Lee is a leader. He commands the offense, and is getting better by the week. With continued improved play, it’s not a stretch to think Nebraska could win three of its final four games and put themselves in position to receive a good bowl bid.

Offensive line play will set the tone, but Lee has shown the ability to make clutch plays. Nebraska will continue to rely on it’s captain quarterback.
