1. USF can’t panic

Houston shocked No. 17 USF on Saturday afternoon, but the Bulls won’t be ranked as high or maybe not at all, but they can’t panic. Now, the Bulls are sitting at 7-1 overall and 4-1 in the AAC.

They are now second in the AAC East, but they still have a chance to be the kill of that side of the hill if they can beat currently undefeated No. 17 Central Florida when they play in Orlando, Fla., on Nov. 24.

Charlie Strong has done a good job keeping his team on task now that he and his team are faced with adversity the coming weeks will be a true test on the outlook of the season. They may look back on this game and say they should’ve won, they may be right, but “if was a fifth we’d all be drunk” (to quote the great Young Jeezy).

They won the turnover battle 1-0 and outgained Houston 462-397 in total yards, but it wasn’t meant to be Saturday. If they handle business in November they will have a strong shot to play the winner of the AAC West in December. Let’s see how this unfolds.
