Baylor Football: 5 bold predictions for November 2017

2. Clay Johnston will still get All-Big 12 consideration despite injury
Clay Johnston is built to be a linebacker. His father is a former strength and conditioning coach for the Los Angeles Chargers. Johnston has been all over the place on defense and has made his presence felt. He is a throwback linebacker and his toughness is evident in his play.
Johnston broke his hand during the season and had to have surgery. He has not missed a start yet. He is one of very few players on the roster that has started every game this season. Playing with a cast has limited his production lately but no one can question his toughness. He could have sat out a few games to heal but he did what he had to help his team.
Comparisons have been made to former Baylor all conference linebacker Bryce Hager. Its hard not to with the no. 44 jersey. Hager wore that number while he was making plays for Baylor. Johnston is a sophomore and a leader of this defense. Johnston led Baylor with 54 total tackles so far this season before his season-ending injury.
