2. He’s got the size to excel as a pocket passer

There’s a few NFL quarterbacks like Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks, Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints, and Tyrod Taylor of the Buffalo Bills, that can be successful as shorter passers.

More than anything, size helps to get the vision necessary to make precise throws and that’s one tool that Rosen definitely has. He would be about an average height among NFL quarterbacks. The natural vision he also possesses makes him even more valuable.

Rosen does have the ability to escape and make throws on the run outside the pocket. In fact, he has rushed for at least one touchdown each season of his college career. Rosen does not run the ball much, but he has the tool to pull out when necessary.

The phase of dual-threat quarterbacks excelling in the NFL was short-lived. Robert Griffin III is a prime example of what can happen when a quarterback is counted on to scramble too much. That is not something Rosen will be counted on for.
