4. COI doesn’t hammer Ole Miss

In particular this prediction deals with the fact that I don’t think the football program gets a two year bowl ban from the Committee on Infractions (COI). Now, they very well could get a one-year ban, but that doesn’t kill your program the way a two year ban does.

Ole Miss made a smart move by banning itself this season, as the Rebels most likely wouldn’t be bowl eligible anyways. That move alone should keep them from getting a two-year ban.

Let’s also look at the fact that the accusations against Ole Miss aren’t near as bad as say accusations at Miami or even North Carolina, a case that the COI didn’t hammer either. The COI delivering fair penalties is what I see coming. Not the so called second coming of the death penalty that many in the national media seem to think is coming.

Only problem with their theories is that the accusations don’t match the severity needed for that level of penalty. Something that the program can weather, and then still be able to get a quality coach in and then be able to recruit at a high level once again.
