2. Denzel Mims does not get the credit he deserves

Sophomore wide receiver Denzel Mims has quietly put together one of the best seasons of any pass-catcher in the Big 12. He leads the team in almost every receiving category possible and led the team in receiving yards once again.

With how much pressure has been put on Mims’ shoulders with season ending injuries to receivers like Chris Platt and Pooh Stricklin, he had a lot to live up to. Mims has not faulted since the beginning of the year.

This was the fourth time this year that Mims went over 100 receiving yards on the game. Those four performances came in the last six games as well. While Mims yards have gone up, he has gone through a bit of a drought in terms of touchdowns.

Baylor has turned to other young receivers like freshman Gavin Holmes for answers. With all the talent between freshmen and sophomores in this receiving corps, the future of the Baylor passing game is very bright.
