College Football Playoff Ranking Projections: Top 25 for Week 11
By Zach Bigalke
Michigan played its way into the final spot of the College Football Playoff rankings thanks to a convincing 33-10 win over Minnesota on Saturday evening. In a game delayed by inclement weather, the Wolverines took down the Golden Gophers to earn their seventh win of the season and stay in the New Year’s Six bowl hunt.
Neither team really threw the ball much, but Michigan was far more effective rushing the ball. Karan Higdon racked up 200 rushing yards on 16 carries, punching in two touchdowns in the process. Chris Evans added two more scores and 191 yards on 13 carries. On the other side of the ball, the Wolverines defense held Minnesota to 90 rushing yards on 44 carries to ensure the win.
Michigan would still need tons of help to play for the Big Ten title. They close out the year with trips to Maryland and top-10 Wisconsin before taking on Ohio State in their annual rivalry game on Thanksgiving weekend. Jim Harbaugh‘s team would be an attractive option for one of the major bowl games if the Wolverines keep winning.
