5. The PAC-12 is Washington’s to lose

The likely matchup in the PAC-12 Championship Game this year is the USC Trojans and the Huskies. USC took down the other challenger in the PAC-12 South in Week 10 in Arizona 49-35. Washington defeated the Colorado Buffaloes in the 2016 PAC-12 Title Game.

Winning the PAC-12 would put Washington in the best position to make it back to the Playoff. With the SEC looking to send two teams to the Playoff and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish possibly knocking out another Power Five conference, the Huskies need some help.

Washington went to the Playoff with one-loss last year when it lost to USC during the regular season. The only loss so far came against the Arizona State Sun Devils on the road. That would be the place that Washington is most prone to losing.

However, the Huskies are the PAC-12’s only hope of getting a team into the Playoff and the Big 12 and ACC are trying very hard to get that last Playoff spot. The entire conference should hope for the Huskies to win out and take home the PAC-12 Championship.
