1. Only running back on top-five team with more than 1,000 rushing yards

Adams is producing at a higher level on the ground than any player on Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, or Oklahoma. The only players even competing with that on those other four rosters are Oklahoma  quarterback Baker Mayfield and Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts.

The only other player even on a top 10 team right now that has more than 1,000 rushing yards is Wisconsin’s freshman star running back Jonathan Taylor. If Wisconsin does win out Taylor does have a good case for the Heisman. Adams is averaging 1.5 yards more per carry than Taylor, though.

Yet, Notre Dame is a lock for the Playoff if the Irish win out. Wisconsin might not be. Adams has already amassed 1,191 rushing yards and nine touchdowns. He’s also racked up nearly 100 receiving yards on 10 catches.

Adams has the stat line and overall resume necessary to win the Heisman so far. The combination of his overall stats along with how good Notre Dame is playing as a team right now is powerful. Getting to the 1,500 rushing yard mark after these last three games could seal a Heisman finalist spot for Adams.
