2. Nic Shimonek is held in check — in the first half

Senior Texas Tech quarterback Nic Shimonek has been in a tough situation the past few weeks. The Red Raiders faced some very talented opponents where Shimonek would have had to put up some huge numbers to keep pace. He was not able to do that.

If Shimonek cannot respond with a win in Week 11, he will only have two more games in a Texas Tech uniform. The Red Raiders enter the game with four wins and five losses, needing wins against Baylor and the Texas Longhorns to round things out.

Baylor has a tall task to shut down the vast array of weapons that Shimonek has to work with. Running backs Justin Stockton and Desmond Nisby have been a solid duo of late. Not to mention the deep receiving corps.

The Bears’ secondary has kept the entire team in the game at times this year. That will be the case once again as this young squad will give the Red Raiders a very tough test. Halftime adjustments will need to be made for Shimonek to be productive in the second half.
