3. Baylor’s newfound confidence

There’s something to be said about a young team coming off its first win of the season. The Bears are one of the least experienced teams in the country and it has shown through the first couple of months. Heck, they were barely competitive against teams like Duke, Oklahoma State and Texas.

However, confidence was built in close losses against tough opponents such as Oklahoma, West Virginia and Kansas State.

After losing the first two games of the season against Liberty and UTSA, all confidence for this young team was shot. Now that they’ve finally notched their first win of the year against a clearly inferior Kansas team, the Bears can focus on building confidence to end the year and using it as momentum for 2018.

No, the Bears are heading to a bowl game this season, but they will likely be playing for the future in this one. A loss against Texas Tech might mean a potential 1-11 season, but a win could even build momentum to finish the year against two ranked opponents.
