1. Brandon Wimbush will run wild

The spread offense revolutionized the game of college football and with the spread came a new kind of quarterback. Led by pioneers such as Johnny Manziel and Marcus Mariott, the dual-threat passer has become an integral part of this era of college football. You don’t have to look further than quarterback Deshaun Watson of the Clemson Tigers, the defending national champions.

Brandon Wimbush would be classified as a dual-threat quarterback, but his skills in the passing game are unproven at best and mediocre at worst. That hasn’t stopped the Irish signal caller from racking up 13 rushing touchdowns, eighth most in the nation. That’s more scores on the ground that Heisman-caliber running backs Jonathan Taylor, Saquon Barkley and Bryce Love.

Miami has a middle-of-the-pack rushing defense that will have a hard enough time stopping Josh Adams, let alone a second rusher. Wimbush isn’t going to stun anybody through the air, but his legs will give a young linebacking corps trouble.

Wimbush has two more rushing touchdowns than passing touchdowns. He’ll keep that separation in tact on Saturday scoring a few times on the ground with perhaps just one touchdown through the air.
