3. Josh Adams will be too much

The Saquon Barkley hype train was out in full force at the beginning of the season. It almost came off the rails when he took the opening kickoff against Ohio State back for a touchdown. What’s not to love about a dynamic runner than can score on special teams, on the ground, catching the ball and throwing it for a score.

Adams is doing one thing that Barkley isn’t, winning the big games. As the Nittany Lions have fallen off the Irish have continued their dominant run through the gauntlet of ranked teams.

No one has been more consistent than Adams for the Irish during their impressive seven game wining streak. Adams left last week’s game against Wake Forest earlier with an injury, but in his other six completed games he was held under 100 yards once and cracked 150 yards on four separate occasions. That included a 202 yard performance against an NC State team allowing 131.2 yards on the ground per game.

Adams is a runaway freight train that cannot and will not be stopped. If he’s healthy enough to play his full complement of snaps the Hurricanes are going to be in trouble.
