2. Alabama Crimson Tide

I’m putting Alabama at No. 2 just because they are the only team that consistently stays in the top-four. Mississippi State pushed Alabama to the limit during Week 11. The Crimson Tide escaped with a 31-24 win in regulation enough Mississippi State held a lead the majority of the game.

After a missed field goal by Andy Pappanastos, Mississippi State mismanaged the clock and allowed Jalen Hurts and crew another chance before the end of regular and they made the Bulldogs pay. Hurts led a six-play, 66-yard drive in 44 seconds, capped by a 26-yard touchdown pass to receiver DeVonta Smith. Hurts finished with 242 yards passing on 10-for-19 passing and a touchdown to go along with 19 carries for 40 yards and another score.

All wasn’t great for Alabama as it allowed Mississippi State to rush for 172 yards and three touchdowns. It was one of the first weeks the injuries at linebacker started to surface but will other teams be able to build on what the Bulldogs did Week 11? We will see, but Alabama is still No. 2 in rankings until proven otherwise.
