Miami running back Travis Homer carried the load on the ground for the Hurricane offense. He finished with 146 yards on 18 carries as he continues to excel in the starting role.

Homer became the Hurricanes starter after veteran running back Mark Walton went down with a season-ending ankle injury following their win over Florida State. Homer has averaged a little over 109 yards per game since taking over the starting job, and his running was a big reason why the Hurricanes offense was able to open up against Notre Dame.

Homer also played a vital role in the passing game as his one of two receptions on the night came on a crucial third down and allowed the Miami drive to stay alive.

The Hurricanes rushing attack has not dropped off since Homer’s insertion into the starting lineup, and he will need to continue his production if Miami wants to make a run at a national championship.
