Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. DE. Josh Sweat. player. 36. Florida State. 27

Josh Sweat, a weak-side defensive end from Florida State, looks the part of an NFL player already.

Standing 6-5 and weighing 260 pounds, Sweat can get to the quarterback in a heartbeat and has the speed to chase down running backs at the same time.

An injury forced Sweat to miss the Miami game earlier this year, but he has picked up his play as of late, making nine and eight tackles vs. Louisville and Boston College. He also has recorded sacks in multiple games.

For Seattle this season, injuries have hit the defense hard and it might be a time to start adding young talent to learn under those veterans like Michael Bennett, Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas. At the same time, a focused Sweat has the talent to step in on the first day and compete for playing time in the trenches.

Sweat has recorded 43 tackles in eight games, including 10.5 for loss and 4.5 sacks. He’s also broken up three passes.
