player. Pick Analysis. RB. Penn State. Saquon Barkley. 5. Scouting Report. 46

Frank Gore continues to age and Marlon Mack might make a better third-down running back. Could the Colts get lucky and have Saquon Barkley fall to them at No.5?

They just might.

Barkley looked like the clear Heisman favorite after October, but he has failed to keep that momentum going in November as Penn State has fallen with him.

When scouts and general managers go back through and watch film on Barkley, they will likely examine his “bad” games more than the “good” ones, but boy, those good ones were great.

The 230-pounder broke free for 211 yards in a win over Iowa and also had 18 touches for 161 yards vs. Michigan. His skills in both the passing game and return game make him worthy of such a high pick.

A healthy Andrew Luck next year paired with Barkley and T.Y. Hilton could really push the Colts back to the top of the division.

Barkley sits at 899 yards rushing with 11 scores to go with 40 catches for 517 yards and three touchdowns. He also has two return scores.
