Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher has coached at some high-profile programs during his time in the college ranks. He’s been with the Seminoles for a while and is having his worst year since coming to Tallahassee.

However, there’s a couple reasons as to why Fisher would not leave Florida State for Texas A&M. The main one is that it would be a lateral move, at best. Texas A&M could unload a serious amount of money to land Fisher, but that is about it.

Bringing a head coach to College Station that recently won a National Championship is an interesting option for the SEC West, with an already crowded division. Yet, Fisher’s chance at winning another title is also better with the Noles in the ACC.

Fisher’s name is thrown around a lot right now in the rumor mill. One bad season with Florida State does not mean Fisher will leave the Noles for Texas A&M, Tennessee, Florida, etc. and the rumor will die down soon.
