College Football Bowl Games 2017: Week 12 projections
By Zach Bigalke
Week 1: Bowl games from Dec. 22 through Dec. 26
The contests of the second week of the college football postseason always hover around Christmas. Sometimes this week features the first matchups of ranked opponents, though it seems like a longshot to happen this season. The best chance for that possibility is the Cactus Bowl showdown between Iowa State and Washington State, who are both still in the running for conference titles.
Other than that showdown in Tucson, the best game of this week is probably going to take place on the Smurf Turf in Boise. Likely MAC champion Toledo will square off against MWC West champ Fresno State after both missed out on their respective longshot bids to play in a New Year’s Six game.
