4. Jim Mora Jr., UCLA

The Bruins did relieve quite a bit of pressure for Mora on Saturday night by topping Arizona State in a 44-37 shootout in Pasadena. Quarterback Josh Rosen looked very good in his return following a concussion, completing 25 of 45 passes for 381 yards and a touchdown, plus a rushing touchdown.  Receiver Jordan Lasley also had a big game, catching seven passes for 162 yards and was on the receiving end of Rosen’s only passing touchdown.

With the win, UCLA moved to 5-5 on the season, with in-state rivals USC and Cal, Berkley remaining on their schedule. Conference games are never easy, especially when they happen to be against in-state rivals. But even with his job hanging in the balance, Mora still see’s a lot of promise in this Bruins team. “The encouraging thing is I see talent, I see guys working at it, I see them gaining experience every day, I see them taking it very, very seriously; it matters to them,” Mora told reporters before his game against Arizona State.

The end result will determine whether Mora stay’s or is let go, but the Bruins are on the threshold of keeping him if they reach bowl eligibility in the next two weeks.
