Talk about a midseason turnaround as the Missouri Tigers are on a four game win streak. The Tigers are also one win away from bowl eligibility. I wrote a few weeks ago that Missouri was all but out of bowl contention and that head coach Barry Odom would be on his way out. I’m glad to see that I just might be wrong. Missouri has looked impressive in wins over lesser SEC East teams like Florida and Tennessee. The offense has been great and the defense has gotten better from where it was to start 2017.

Missouri faces Vanderbilt next, a game that has a huge amount of importance for the Tigers. With a win they can become bowl eligible. The Tigers have impressed me of late and that’s why they’ve moved from the bottom of the conference to the middle of the rankings. If they keep winning, they’ll just keep moving on up.

Ole Miss followed up their comeback win with a thrashing of the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns. Quarterback Jordan Ta’amu impressed once again as he passed for over 400 yards and had a combined five touchdowns in the game. This Rebels team could be getting hot at the right time with games against Texas A&M and Mississippi State still to played. Other than Ta’amu, receiver AJ Brown and running back Jordan Wilkins impressed on offense with 185 yards receiving and 124 rushing yards respectively in the game.

Ole Miss won’t be playing in a bowl this season due to self imposed sanctions but their doing their best to finish this season strong. Should the Rebels win out, it will only serve to bolster the chances of interim head coach Matt Luke becoming the full time coach. Texas A&M heads to Oxford this season in what should be a fun offensive shootout.
