Michigan travels to Wisconsin to take on the Badgers. In a weekend lacking many great match-ups, this is the best game by far of Week 12. The Badgers are eight-point favorites.

Wisconsin is 10-0 for the first time in school history. They have already locked up their spot in the Big Ten Championship game and are looking to stay alive in the College Football Playoff hunt. The Badgers have been living off a suffocating defense. They are winning despite quarterback Alex Hornibrook throwing 12 interceptions. Running back Jonathan Taylor has been a pleasant surprise, but he does have a tendency to fumble the ball in the red zone.

This is where Michigan’s defense can take advantage. Michigan cannot expect quarterback Brandon Peters to win this game on long fields. They need to force Wisconsin turnovers and create short fields for the Wolverine offense to work. The Wolverines are also number one in the country in stopping third downs.

If Michigan can get the ball on short fields and control the clock, the Wolverines may have a chance to spoil the Badgers season. Wisconsin has been sleepwalking through games all season and an early start does not bode well. A Wisconsin loss likely keeps the Big Ten out of the playoff this season.
