3. Falk could lead Wazzu to Pac-12 Championship
Wazzu controls its own destiny in the Pac-12. The only two defeats in conference play were somewhat surprising as well. One came in a 58-37 drudging at the hands of quarterback Khalil Tate and the Arizona Wildcats.
The other loss came in a rough performance against the Cal Golden Bears. Wazzu really should be undefeated and could be looking at a season of “what ifs” in terms of making a run to the Playoff. Yet, winning a Pac-12 Championship would not be too shabby.
If Wazzu defeats the Huskies in the Apple Cup on Nov. 25, they’re in. A loss to the Huskies would mean that either the Stanford Cardinal or UW itself would represent the Pac-12 North in the conference title game.
The win over Stanford was huge and could be directly because of the efforts of Falk with three touchdown passes. Falk only tossed one pick and his 337 passing yards outdid Stanford quarterback K.J. Costello.
