3. Iowa State has a bright future at quarterback

Whether it be Kempt or Noland, Iowa State has a few options to work with behind center. The Clones started the year with Jacob Park as the starting quarterback, but both Kempt and Noland are much more effective.

Noland went without a turnover against Baylor, keeping momentum in favor of the Clones nearly at all points during the contest. He was throw into the fire in Week 11 against Oklahoma State and was one play away from tying it up, before an interception for Cowboys corner A.J. Green.

It would be easy for Noland to collapse under the pressure of his first career start, especially on the road. However, he responded in a big way, with two early touchdowns to wide receivers Hakeem Butler and Allen Lazard.

With the help of Montgomery, easily going over the 100-yard mark in this one, life was easier for Noland. Campbell has an embarrassment of riches to work with at quarterback, giving Iowa State’s offense a promising road ahead.
