3. Malik Rosier is an enigma

Malik Rosier can connect on some beautiful throws but he can miss wide open receivers — against mediocre competition, that’s not ideal. Against Clemson, Ohio State or Alabama that’d be horrid.

Miami reminds me of 2002 Ohio State and Rosier reminds me of Craig Krenzel. He was the average quarterback that led the Buckeyes to the 2002 title in the 2003 Fiesta Bowl game that’s still much debated.

Krenzel threw for 2,000-plus yards and a 12-to-7 touchdown-to-interception ratio back in 2002. He was off set by the magnificent running from troubled tailback Maurice Clarett. He ran for 1,200-plus yards and 16 touchdowns in his only college season.

Rosier, on the other hand, has been without a true feature back but has relied on timely receptions from after thought receivers on his way to throwing for over 2000 yards and 20 touchdowns. Rosier, though, has thrown as many touchdowns as he’s missed on and Miami’s close wins could have been easy victories if he didn’t miss on throws in the first three quarters.

From there, he has had these impressive gutsy fourth quarter games. He’s his own oxymoron and is the main reason Miami will play for its first ACC title in all these years of league play.
