2. Kenny Robinson has a bright future with the West Virginia defense

Up until a fourth quarter touchdown catch from White, the only touchdown for the Mountaineers actually came from the defense. Freshman defensive back Kenny Robinson grabbed his third interception of the season, and his second returned for a touchdown.

Over the past few weeks, Robinson was key for the Mountaineers defense. His first career interception came against Oklahoma State, which turned into a 39 yard return for a touchdown. He also nabbed a huge pick in Week 11 in a win over the Kansas State Wildcats.

The strongest part of this West Virginia squad was not the defense this year. Yet, the defense came up huge in two straight wins, over the Iowa State Cyclones and Kansas State. Robinson is a big reason for that happening.

Linebackers Al-Rasheed Benton and David Long looked like the best defensive players for the Mountaineers for most of the season. Yet, Robinson shows he’s a force to be reckoned with alongside experienced defensive backs like Mike Daniels and Kyzir White.
