2. Josh Adams could outplay Bryce Love in Week 13

The running back matchup will take center stage in Week 13 when Notre Dame takes on the No. 22 Stanford Cardinal. Junior Stanford running back Bryce Love is still in the thick of Heisman contention and is almost guaranteed to be a finalist.

Yet, Notre Dame running back Josh Adams was a Heisman contender for a while, but does not have hype like that of Love of Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield. Adams did rush for more than 100 yards and averaged nearly 6.0 yards per carry against Navy.

He had two down performances against Miami and Wake Forest, with 66 yards combined in those two outings. Adams amassed nearly half the yards from those two games total in just one 30 yard run in Week 12.

With Wimbush and Adams both having bounce back performances in the win, Stanford will need its best game to and Love’s best effort to win. The Cardinal will be motivated, though, to build some momentum before a possible appearance in the PAC-12 Championship Game.
